LAREDO, SPAIN-(19-7-2003) 49er European Championship
Laredo, Spain - The last day of finals with 4 races sailed in the Gold fleet brought changes in the overall standings. With a total of 16 races sailed and 2 discards, German crew Marcus Baur/Max Groy (55 points)have become the European Champions followed by British team Chris Draper/Simon Hiscocks (67 points) and third place is for Spanish crew Iker Martinez/Xabier Fernández (69 points).

Laredo, Spain - All groups sailed two races with North easterly, 6- 12 knots of breeze, enabling some results to be posted and some leaders to emerge. At 4 o’clock the blue 49er and 29er groups saw their races abandoned due to a big storm and all boats returned ashore.
